On Culture Day Holiday of November 23 (Tuesday), we joined "Plogging" event organized by Iyo Bank, Ltd. as a collaboration company in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture, famous for Dogo Onsen, Matsuyama Castle and Saka no Ue no Kumo Museum where their head office is located.

Sagamihara City, which is located in the north of Kanagawa Prefecture that has a population of approximately 730,000 (as of September 1, 2021), is a city designated by the government ordinance of Japan.

A cleaning activity in Miyajima Tsutsumigaura Natural Park, Hiroshima Prefecture, took place on October 9 (Sat) as part of the initiatives by the “GREEN SEA Setouchi Hiroshima Platform (abbreviated as “GSHIP”)”, of which the Coca-Cola System is a member, and “Marine Waste Issue Jibungotoka Project in Hiroshima”, and our executive officer Maki Kado and some of our employees participated in the cleaning.

Based on the Comprehensive Collaboration Agreement signed between Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. and Namegata City on Sept. 11, 2020, a Food Loss Prevention Vending Machine was installed in Tamatsukuri building of Namegata City Hall on Aug. 16, 2021.

As part of our lineup of special and stylish Coca-Cola Slim Bottles with packaging that depicts famous sightseeing spots across the country, we released “Ganbarou Tohoku” bottles limited to the three prefectures of Miyagi, Fukushima, and Yamagata on Monday July 26th, 2021.

The Cool Touch Mask sold in the vending machines of FV Japan, a Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan group company, won the Function/Environment Award at the 17th Glass Bottle Awards.

On May 14, 2021, a unique-looking Coca-Cola vending machine appeared in Takiko Campus of Nagoya City University. It was a special vending machine installed by Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan that featured the “Protect the Oceans” visual wrapping designed by the students of this university.

On May 26, Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. has begun the full-scale operation of its new manufacturing line for alcoholic beverages at its Komatsu Plant (in Komatsu-cho, Saijo-shi, Ehime Prefecture).

On April 16, Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. concluded a Comprehensive Collaboration Agreement for the development of Moriyama City, Shiga Prefecture and the local communities and improving resident services.

Coca-Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Niigata SC is located about 10 minutes drive from Niigata Station in Niigata Prefecture where there are many sightseeing spots and local specialties.

In September 2020, Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan signed an agreement with Nagareyama City in Chiba Prefecture to install vending machines in Nagareyama City Park in order to promote the creation of a safe and secure community.

"Coca-Cola" Slim Bottle Niigata design launched on October 1, 2018 has been redeployed due to popular demand.

Himeji City, located in the south-western part of Hyogo Prefecture (Harima area), is a sightseeing spot well-known for Himeji Castle, also known as White Heron Castle (Shirasagi-jo), which is visited by many domestic and foreign tourists every year.

Sendai City in Miyagi Prefecture is known as the "City of Trees (Mori no Miyako)". The word, "Mori" or woods, refers to not only the trees and plants naturally grown in mountains but also the lush greenery nurtured by concerted efforts of the people in the community over a long period of time. The nickname, "City of Trees", represents the citizen's thoughts that the greenery surrounding their shrines, temples, and houses and long being cherished by people is the very treasure of the city.

On February 18, we concluded a Comprehensive Collaboration Agreement with Nirasaki City, Yamanashi Prefecture, in efforts to improve public services and vitalize the community.

A natural water brand "I LOHAS" fostered by the great nature in Japan. It uses carefully selected natural water sourced from 6 locations in Japan. In February 2021, the package was renewed highlighting the "deliciousness of natural water nurtured in a forest" and the name of the water source more clearly.

Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan has colleagues working in more than 350 locations in 38 prefectures. We are implementing a "message relay" using the company intranet and the communication tool Yammer, so that we can tell each other what's going on and how we're doing even if we can't see each other very often because of COVID-19.

Fukuoka City has sought demonstration experiment projects across the nation that lead to solutions to social challenges using advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT), and has implemented the "Fukuoka City Demonstration Experiment Full-support Project" that provides support for excellent projects in demonstration experiments in Fukuoka City.

Yoshimi-machi in Hiki-gun is located in the center of Saitama Prefecture and has a population of about 20,000 people. Yoshimi-machi is famous for "Yoshimi Strawberry", which is the most produced strawberry breed in Saitama Prefecture. As a tourist attraction, Yoshimi-machi has remains of a tunnel tomb group with many tomb holes called "Yoshimi Hyakuana", which has been designated by the government as a National Historic Site.

Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan has been working with Sendai City and NPO Wakatsuku since 2017 to organize the Sendai Youth Award, which recognizes the outstanding efforts of youth organizations to solve social challenges and achieve SDGs.

Setouchi Shimanami Kaido is a 60km road (70km cycling road) between Onomichi City, Hiroshima and Imabari City, Ehime, linking the islands of the Seto Inland Sea. The Cycling Road is Japan's first cycle path to cross the straits and is famous as the ‘holy land of cyclists’ both in Japan and abroad, giving bikers the feel of the cool sea breeze as they enjoy the spectacular view.

Ebino City, Miyazaki Prefecture, where Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan's "Ebino Plant" is located, is near the border of three prefectures of Miyazaki, Kagoshima, and Kumamoto and roughly in the center of southern Kyushu, the central part of Kyushu. The city is rich in nature with the Kyushu mountain range to the north and the Kirishima mountain range to the south and has been known for rich rice-growing area.

At Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan, many of our employees actively participate in local cleanup activities around Sale Centers and plants, and working with NPOs and local governments to further improve the collection and recycling of packages.

"Jankenman" is a local hero beloved by the people of Kagoshima Prefecture. Having come from the Janken Kingdom with a mission to cheer everyone, Jankenman participates in not only the local events but also other prefectures' cleaning activities and volunteer work in disaster-affected areas and delivers smiles to many.

On Thursday November 5, 2020, Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan visited Child Affairs Bureau in the Fukushima prefectural office, and donated a portion of sales from "Yasashii Nansui Aquabona" to "Great East Japan Earthquake Fukushima Donation for Children".

Mihara City in Hiroshima Prefecture, where the completion ceremony of the new Hiroshima Plant was held recently, is renowned for its beautiful nature with sea and mountains and its rich culture which has been cultivated over a long period of history.

On Wednesday, November 18, a ceremony was held at the Miyazaki prefectural government's office to present the "Prime Minister's Award for the 2020 Greening Promotion Movement" to Ebino Plant (Ebino City, Miyazaki Prefecture), which received the award on April 15 of this year.

On October 21, 2020, a 'Tokugawa Ieyasu' design vending machine was installed at the Sekigahara-cho Museum of History and Folklore Study (formerly Sekigahara-cho Museum of History and Folklore), which reopened in conjunction with the 'Gifu Sekigahara historic battleground memorial hall.'

On Monday, October 26, the Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Kyoto Plant started the production of special lemon sour "Lemon-dou" to ensure a stable supply of the product. Up until then Lemon-dou was only produced in the Saitama Plant in CCBJI, so the Kyoto Plant is the second plant to produce it.

According to the Food Loss Reduction Promotion Act, October is defined as "Food Loss Reduction Month." In Japan, there were 6.12 million tons/year (estimated) of food loss in 2017, whereby food that can still be eaten is discarded. This converts to one rice bowl (ca. 132g) per person being thrown away every day.

Hiroshima Plant (located in Mihara in Hiroshima Prefecture) that started operating from June 1, 2020 is now ready to welcome visitors to its plant tour zone that has just been completed.

Are you familiar with the term "3Rs"? The "3Rs" collectively refer to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. The month of October is designated as the "Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle Promotion Month" every year by eight relevant ministries and agencies; including the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Ministry of the Environment; and various enlightenment activities are implemented.

A vending machine equipped with the radio for disaster/crime prevention appeared in public with a catchphrase, "Drink Disaster Prevention / Drink Crime Prevention", at the grand opening ceremony of Shimonoseki Citizen's Square opened on October 3, 2020 in front of Shimonoseki City Hall in Yamaguchi Prefecture! The radio will send out emergency information during disasters and also alerts for ongoing crimes.

Do you know "mocktail" that is recently popular? "Mocktail" is a word coined by the combination of 'mock', which means to imitate or mimic, and 'cocktail', and is a new way to call alcohol-free versions of cocktails. Mocktails are increasingly becoming popular because people, who usually stay away from alcohol beverages, can enjoy drinking and also because people now have more occasions to drink at home.

On September 2, we started selling "local specialty floats", Coca-Cola drinks topped with local specialty soft-serve ice cream made with a plenty of locally produced fruits and vegetables at "Yumekaido farm 67", a farm-owned cafe located in Yumesaki-cho, Himeji City

On September 5, Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. launched "Coca-Cola" Slim Bottle Kyoto Design that is designed with famous tourist landmarks of these areas which includes a project of "Another Kyoto" (Kyoto by the sea, Mori no Kyoto, Ocha no Kyoto and Kyoto Otokuni) that highlights the areas in Kyoto that are distinct and different from the ancient capital of Kyoto in a gift box.

Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. and Higashi Fukuoka Gakuen jointly declared "commitment to the SDGs" to work together and take actions on creating a sustainable and better world in future. On the same day, CCBJI also donated face shields* made from recycled PET bottles and held a ceremony to present our donation in the hope that it gives people an opportunity to pay another attention to recycling and SDGs. We also hope this will be part of the students' memories of their school days.

Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. has donated part of its "Coca-Cola" Slim Bottle Chiba Design proceeds to Chiba Prefecture under its agreement on alliance and cooperation in tourism signed with the prefecture. After holding the 1st. donation certificate presentation ceremony last May, this time we made a courtesy visit to Chiba Vice-Governor Takigawa on July 21 as the 2nd. time.

Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. installed the company's first and the only "Mocktails Car" in the world at Water Kingdom in Huis Ten Bosch, operated by Huis Ten Bosch (opened on July 18). "Mocktails Car" will be open from July 18 (Sat) to Aug 31 (Mon) offering a Huis Ten Bosch original non-alcoholic "Mocktails" menu.

COVID-19 infections are still on the rise across Japan, and the pandemic has drastically changed people's lives. Especially after the declaration of a state of emergency in April, many people avoided outings and stayed at home, resulting in a surge of "household waste". This problem has been widely covered and reported by the media. Under these circumstances, it is the local cleaning professionals who diligently work on an enormous amount of waste and support people's living.

Coco-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. on June 1 concluded the "Agreement on Promotion of Host Town Program, etc." with Yatsushiro City, Kumamoto Prefecture.

Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan installed a new aseptic production line in the Zao Plant (Zao-machi, Katta-gun, Miyagi), and started its full-scale operation from July 1, 2020.

Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. installed its first "Original Wrapped Vending Machine with PET Bottle Recycle Promotional Design" in the parking area of the Shikoku Aquarium at its opening on June 1, 2020. The vending machine was placed in response to a request by the aquarium's director, Mr. Yoshimasa Matsuzawa, to appeal "how Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan recycles PET bottles and works on environmental challenges using vending machines".

In cooperation with Edogawa Gosei Co., Ltd., Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. placed the very first unit of a vending machine that supports Japan Hearing Dogs for Deaf People (JHDDP), a social welfare corporation designated by the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare, and that depicts pictures of JHDDP's actively working "local hearing/service dogs", on the 2nd floor of Edogawa's office.

Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. has built "New Hiroshima Plant" in Mihara City, Hiroshima Prefecture where Hongo Plant was located. The new plant began operations on Monday, June 1, 2020 to replace Hongo plant that was severely damaged by the heavy rains in western Japan in July, 2018.

In January 2020, Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. concluded a "collaboration agreement to support places for children including children's cafeteria" with Saitama Prefecture and the Saitama Prefecture Council of Social Welfare, and provided approximately 4,700 bottles of Coca-Cola products to Saitama Food Pantry Network (a network organization run by a food pantry governing body in the prefecture) on May 21, 2020 in accordance with this agreement.

The authentic lemon sour brand "Lemon-dou" will celebrate its 2nd anniversary since its pre-release in Kyushu on May 28, 2018.

Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. installed the Japan's first vending machines supporting the international campus wireless LAN "eduroam" in 10 parks in Kyoto City including the Maruyama Park, with technical cooperation from the Academic Center for Computing and Media Studies, Kyoto University.

Since 2016, Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. has partnered with Second Harvest Japan (a member of Alliance of Japan Food Banks), which is Japan's first Food Bank organization, and the All-Japan Food Bank Association to donate our products. We delivered our beverages to local "children's cafeterias" and "various welfare facilities" through 22 Food Bank organizations throughout Japan so that they can be of effective use.

Under our corporate philosophy to be "Community-based", Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. has worked on various community revitalizations and has concluded comprehensive collaboration agreements with many local governments.

"Daigakudo Building", a commercial building in Chuo-ku, Kumamoto City, was completed in 1968, and a Coca-Cola OOH billboard sign was installed on the roof.

Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. on Monday, April 27 resumed the operation of Hongo automated warehouse (located in Mihara City, Hiroshima Prefecture) which had been suspended due to the severe damages caused by the flooding in the heavy rains in the western Japan in July 2018, having introduced the latest technologies to the warehouse.

Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. began full-scale operation of a new line at its Hakushu Plant (Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture).

On March 12, Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. made a courtesy visit to Gen Amano, Head of Sendai Culture and Tourism Bureau, to donate part of sales from "Coca-Cola" Slim Bottle Sendai Design to the city of Sendai.

On Wednesday, February 19, 2020, Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. signed a Comprehensive Collaboration Agreement with Isumi City of Chiba Prefecture.

On February 13, 2020 at the Sendai City Support Center Community Theater, the "Sendai Talk Cafe ～ Considering how to make "fun Sendai" with young working adults and students ～", a talk event for the youth who are interested in solving issues of the community, was held.

On Monday, November 11, Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc.(hereafter "CCBJI") concluded "Agreement on Comprehensive Collaboration" with Komae-shi, Tokyo.

On October 1 (Monday), 2018, Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. (hereafter "CCBJI"), based in Minato-ku, Tokyo, and headed by Representative Director & President Tamio Yoshimatsu, launched the Tokugawa design version of "Coca-Cola" Slim Bottle decorated with an iconic design of the wild ginger trefoil coat of arms of the Tokugawa clan.

On August 30 (Thursday), Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. installed “Saitama Prefecture's first unit of JOC Olympic Support Vending Machine, Judo Design Version” in Fujizuka Daiichi Park and held an installation ceremony with guests including the mayor of Miyoshi Town, Mr. Isao Hayashi, invited.

"Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. launched “Coca-Cola” Slim Bottle of Nara with special package stylishly designed with illustrations of local tourist attractions on Mon. Aug 6, 2018. Our company held a ceremony to present “Coca-Cola” Slim Bottle of Nara design to Shogo Arai, Governor of Nara prefecture, on the day to celebrate its launch. The mascot of Nara prefecture Sento-kun also attended the ceremony and livened up the atmosphere."

As part of events hosted by Kagawa Prefecture to celebrate 30th anniversary of Seto Ohashi Bridge, Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan held a ceremony to unveil a wrapping VM developed in collaboration with the anime “Yuki Yuna is a Hero-Washio Sumi Chapter-” at Marine Dome in Seto Ohashi Commemorative Park, Sakaide-city.

Partnering with the Scout Association of Japan, the first "Boy Scout Support VM" was installed Tokyo together with the signing of the Boy Scout Support Agreement.

Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. will donate part of sales from the Coca-Cola Nagoya Design Slim Bottle, which has been received favorably since the launch in Nov. 2017, to aid Aichi Prefecture in its efforts to respond to visiting international tourists, and will support in raising awareness of facilities offering free Wi-Fi service as part of the "Aichi Free Wi-Fi" program.

Prior to the launch of "I LOHAS White Peach", CCBJI made a courtesy visit to Yamanashi prefectural office, and delivered "I LOHAS White Peach" manufactured in CCBJI Hakushu Plant (Yamanashi Pref.) to the said office a littler earlier.
